Akrobatik is a web-based intermediate grammar text- and workbook that builds on the successful legacy of Intermatik. This new platform continues to incorporate visual, audio, and interactive components to study of and practice German grammar and explore cultural themes. Through use of the platform, intermediate German learners can expand on their ability to effectively read, listen and communicate ideas related to a variety of contemporary topics.
Leading the development of Akrobatik and all of its content and pedagogical design is Martina Kerlova, Professor of Instruction and Coordinator of the Intermediate German language program. The development team at the MADS has created a custom platform for Akrobatik which introduces a smooth and sleek interface, all while considering aspects of accessibility.
Akrobatik currently serves nearly eighty students per quarter at the second-year level.
