Flipped French

Flipped French inaugurates the latest generation of dynamic courseware for students to learn about French grammar and culture at the second-year, intermediate level. Conceived and authored by French professors Aude Raymond, Christiane Rey, and Patricia Scarampi, this new platform offers a comprehensive blend of instructional modes that allow for an incredible amount of self-paced learning and supplements the already robust in-class instruction.

Each of the site’s 12 chapters guides students through a dynamic path of discovering, acquiring, and practicing specific grammar skills in order to reach a mastery level. Following checkpoint activities and other diagnostics, students are encouraged to complete any knowledge gaps with targeted and highly didactic exercises that promote learning-by-doing.

Breaking the limitations of traditional textbooks, students using the platform will encounter dynamic activities and practice exercises that provide customized feedback specific to any error or misunderstanding. Meanwhile, this constructive just-in-time instruction also facilitates a goal of near-total immersion in the target language with both textual and audio explanation given in French.
